The music department has the opportunity to energize the worship experience for congregants of John Knox through careful preparation, planning, programming, and leadership. This is accomplished by working with the music staff members and of course our talented volunteer hand bell players, choir members, and house band members.

Sanctuary Choir

The members of the John Knox Sanctuary Choir promote and encourage the congregants to participate in singing hymns and praise choruses every week. All of this is accomplished through rehearsals on Wednesday evenings from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the choir room. From the Heart Singers

The focus of From the Heart Singers is to enhance the Sunday morning worship experience by incorporating songs of a more “contemporary Christian” style. The ensemble rehearses from 9:00 to 9:40 a.m. on Sundays in the choir room and participates in worship about once a month. Angelus Ringers

The hand bell choir is under the direction of Judith Popp and they rehearse on Wednesdays from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. in the choir room. The bells play in worship about once a month. House Band

The House Band leads the music at the 11:00 a.m. service about once every month, using a wide array of modern worship and praise music and a full band with drums, guitars, bass, and a great group of singers.
