DEACONS PROJECTS

Project Merry Christmas is one of the main Deacons projects, and a favorite annual event at John Knox. This church-wide ministry allows us to be a blessing to many needy families by providing them with Christmas food and gifts. Overall, we serve about sixty families per year, in hopes that we might bring the hope and light of Christ into their homes.

Extended Table is an incredible ministry opportunity for our whole congregation. On communion Sundays (first Sunday of every month), we ask our congregation to bring bags of non-perishable food for donation to Neighbors Along the Line and Iron Gate.

Christmas in July is a time for collecting school supplies to be donated to needy elementary schools.

Blessing of the Pets is an annual event at John Knox. Every September, the congregation and community gather to for fellowship, refreshments, and a ceremony to thank God for the special gift of our pets.

Juvenile Diabetes Walk is always a great event, as we have raised over $1,000 from the JKPC congregation each of the last few years.

Overall, the Deacons stay busy with these and many other projects throughout the year. Contact them directly to get involved.
